THIS IS A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT. NO FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE.
A background
check is required for this position.
The City of Baldwin City Fire Department was established in 1910 and continues
to this day as an all volunteer fire department. In 2009, the Baldwin
City Fire Department answered the call of the community and expanded responsibilities to include emergency medical services.
VOLUNTEERS ARE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN:
- Attend monthly department meetings held the 1st Monday of every month at 7:30 pm.
- Attend monthly department training sessions held the 3rd Monday of every Month at 7:30 pm.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Participate in various Baldwin City community events (Maple Leaf Festival, Thomas the Train, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must
live and/or work in Baldwin City or Palmyra Township. As a volunteer
department, we respond to emergencies from our residence or from work.
Therefore, it is critical for our volunteers to live and/or work within a
reasonable distance to respond within an acceptable time frame.
- Must pass a physical.
- Must pass a background check.
BENEFITS:
- City provided/paid gym membership.
- Volunteers are paid per call, meeting and/or training.
- Paid trainings, subject to Chief's approval.
