Job Description:

The City of Augusta is seeking two Power Plant Operator Trainees.  This position takes periodic readings and logs data, acknowledges system alarms, monitors equipment metering and gauges and takes corrective action when necessary.  Additionally, this position performs building and grounds maintenance, provides plant security, and answers phones and dispatches crews for the electrical department.

This position is a rotating shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within three months
• Self-starter with mechanical aptitude
• Problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Power Plant, or experience with diesel engines
• Class A CDL
