City of Abilene

The City of Abilene, Kansas is the proud hometown of President Eisenhower. Abilene, the terminus to the historic Chisholm Trail, is seeking ways to make the community more prosperous and entrepreneurial. In the late 1860s, the Chisholm Trail made Abilene into one of the great cattle towns with great opportunity for business and future growth. At one time, Abilene was even considered as a possible future location for the Capital of Kansas!  Abilene is located between Salina and Junction City, Kansas, on the Smoky Valley river.
