THE LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – has a Full-Time opening for a Detention Officer in the jail. This is a non-exempt, 40 hour per week position which starts at $14.60 per hour with Full County Benefits! The detention officer position works in the Correctional Institution environment, where security is always a priority and there is regular contact with inmates and inmate trustees. It does require regular entry into the secure areas of the jail. Appointment of this position requires successful completion of pre-employment background, physical and polygraph examinations and participates in the random drug and alcohol screening program.
