Provides technical support to SCDDO staff in the use and application of desktop computer technology and peripheral equipment. Further aids management team members by supporting Information Technology (IT) and Management Information Systems (MIS) to ensure contract compliance and achieve maximum efficiency/effectiveness of department operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Customer Support Activities • Coordinate IT/MIS related projects to include all aspects of implementation and execution • Provide technical support and issue resolution assistance to employees using Psych Consult Provider and MCO products via telephone or on-site visit • Respond to requests for assistance from staff using personal computers or other peripheral devices via phone or in person • Diagnose issues to determine if it is a defect within the software program, client application or hardware and resolves issues • Test for defects in production and test systems Data Management and Reporting • Support MIS needs of the department through development of reports synthesized from databases, electronic medical record (EMR) and learning management system (LMS) • Maintain databases ensuring data integrity and accuracy of reporting • Analyze current systems and develop recommendations for improved efficacy of information management Install/Configure Hardware and Software • In coordination with County DIO and Division of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Information Technology (IT) staff: o Set up, install and configure personal computers and peripheral equipment o Install and configure departmental applications and tests for distribution to production environments o Connect hardware, test installations for proper operation o Install software, patches and upgrades o Install additional hardware such as memory modules, network adapters, emulation adapters and storage devices o Make applicable hardware and software configuration changes in standalone and network configurations o Test software patches and upgrades on departmental applications Hardware and Software Research • Call Vendors for purchase or diagnosis of hardware/software • Research capabilities and applicability of new hardware/software products as stand-alone products and integrated into departmental applications End-User Instruction • Provide end-customer instruction in the use of personal computer hardware/software and department applications Other Duties as Assigned • Maintain SharePoint sites for SCDDO • Coordinate and track HIPPA Security Rule compliance for department • Assist County communications to ensure accuracy of department website • Provide back up support to operations team members
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public or Business Administration, Computer Science, IT or a related field. Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied administrative and/or computer work in a public or private organization, including project management experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Valid Kansas Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance required. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle, and meet Driver Qualification standards as set forth in Sedgwick County’s Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy.
• Background checks including but not limited to KBI and DCF adult and child abuse registry. • Motor Vehicle Screen. • Pre-employment drug screen.
• Frequently sits at desk and operates computer • Occasional lifting of personal computer equipment, peripheral devises and supplies up to 50 pounds
• Majority of work will be performed indoors in an office setting
