Usual working days/hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Location of work: 17500 W. 71st St. S.
Maintains and operates light to heavy equipment used in the support and operation of County construction projects including snow and ice removal.
Essential Job Functions:
Operates light to heavy equipment to include tandem axle dump trucks, rollers, power brooms, mowers and other related equipment. Operates hand tools and power tools associated with the support of construction, reconstruction and maintenance of County infrastructure. Learns to operate other heavy equipment and specialized equipment; motor grader, backhoe, bulldozer, front end loader and others as necessary. Operates equipment for loading and unloading of materials and supplies. Performs preventative maintenance and makes minor repairs to assigned equipment. Performs manual work associated with equipment operations. Maintenance, repair and replacement of work zone and basic roadway signage. Participates in County snow and ice removal operations. Occasionally supervise a mowing crew of three employees and tractors. Performs other related work as required.
High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Kansas Commercial Drivers license class B with air brakes and tanker endorsements. One year experience operating road construction equipment.

Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. minimum without restrictions. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
