After your profile is created you must take your test at the Wichita Workforce Center located at 2021 N. Amidon, Suite 1100, Wichita, KS 67203. There is no appointment necessary.
The hours are: Monday – Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Responsible for answering 9-1-1 calls and entering information into Computer Aided Dispatch system.
Essential Job Functions:
- Receives emergency and non-emergency calls for service for law enforcement, fire and EMS.
- Prioritizes and enters calls into Computer Aided Dispatch System.
- Makes effective and immediate decisions based on preset guidelines.
- Makes appropriate referrals to other agencies or departments as required.
- Performs on-call duties on a rotating basis.
- Performs overtime duties on a rotating basis.
- Performs other related work as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Typing 35WPM
- Wonderlic 20% or better
- Must pass a pre-employment Occupational Physical Exam
- Communications Center
- Usual working days/hours: Shift work
- Location of work: 911 center, 714 N. Main
Must pass KBI background check and pre-employment urine drug screen.
