Successful candidate will perform specialized clerical and bookkeeping responsibilities for Sedgwick County Department for Health and Human Services. Includes application of fundamental bookkeeping knowledge and skills to varied standard tasks such as processing reimbursements, coordination of travel and conference registrations, maintenance of professional development funds, management of New Employee Orientation attendance, and ensuring proper verification of insurance and driver’s licenses.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for auditing employee mileage logs in the frequency and timing necessary to facilitate efficiency of processing for payment • Make all business travel arrangements; responsible for making conference registrations and related tasks • Distribute petty cash, flex funds, and flex checking account funds; verify the proper documentation is received and reconcile accounts weekly • Review and process travel reimbursements, invoices and other payments in the SAP system. Maintain the professional development funds by tracking the number of hours and funds an employee is given for the year; keep a current balance • Assemble COMCARE New Employee Orientation and Tour folder packets for new hires and send emails to attendees and their supervisors • Maintain and secure copies of staff’s driver’s licenses and auto insurance before dates of expiration; notify employees of due dates and follow up as necessary • Tracking of insurance certificates for contracts (as they expire) • Order business cards for COMCARE staff • Compile spreadsheet information for medication vouchers • Assist with pre-billing tasks such as comparing names, addresses, and insurance information for consistency across various EMS/COMCARE billing documents
• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year vocational/technical school degree in bookkeeping or business. • Two years experience in the performance of bookkeeping or related work with some exposure to data entry methods, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities • Must be able to accurately count cash and give correct change • Knowledge and experience with SAP preferred
• Background checks including but not limited to KBI & DCF child and adult abuse registry. • Pre-employment urine drug screen. • If considered for employment, candidate must complete and pass these tests: Microsoft Word (75% as Normal User) Microsoft Excel (75% as Normal User) Data Entry (7500 KPH)
