Job Description:

Usual working days/hours: Varied, Daytime, Evening & Weekend Work Required | Varied Hours

Location of work: 635 N. Main | Wichita, KS

Job Objectives:
This position provides clinical and administrative oversight, consultation and training to crisis therapists and supervisors at COMCAREs Community Crisis Center.

Essential Job Functions:
• Personnel Management including; staff training, prioritizing work flow, evaluating employee performance and providing oversight for supervisors, therapists and students. • Program Oversight including; planning and coordinating special projects and budgets, developing long and short term plans for program, monitoring and reporting program activities and goals. • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, remain current on regulations impacting program. • Direct Supervision of Program Staff including; clinical consultation, documentation review, oversight of daily client related activities. • Maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally through participation in various administrative meetings. • Participate in workgroups as requested. • Direct service (assessment, brief crisis intervention, screening, brief therapy) to clients. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Standards:
• Candidates must have a Master's Degree in Behavioral Health field and licensable in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. • Experience in supervising others, or any combination of experience and training that would allow candidate to perform successfully in the program. • A master’s degree in social work with 2-3 years of post-graduate experience is preferred as this position will supervise Master of Social Work practicum students. • Clinical licensure is preferred. • Experience working in and supervising crisis services in a Community Mental Health Center is desired. Demonstrated experience successfully navigating community partnerships is preferred. • Must be willing to be on-call. • Strong verbal and written skills necessary. • Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry and motor vehicle screens. • Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, the general public and all levels of staff. • Ability to apply social work techniques and methods to interpersonal problems, family problems, educational and vocational problems and problems created by impairment in physical health. • Knowledge of the DSM-5, manifestations of specific mental diseases and maladjustments, and of public health services. • Ability to cope with psychiatric crises of adults. • Knowledge of community services and benefit programs. • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with patients, the general public and all levels of staff. • Ability to keep client documentation current. • Possess the awareness and judgment to intervene appropriately when dealing with escalating emotional situations. • Possess the ability to negotiate several flights of stairs at a time and move effectively in varied settings throughout the community. • Possess the mobility and judgment to execute personal protective measures. • Able to calmly and effectively deal with agitated individuals or high risk situations. • Demonstrate autonomous critical thinking skills. • Demonstrate good professional judgment and decision-making skills. • Self-motivated • Able to work with minimal direct supervision. • Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. • Able to handle competing urgent priorities. • Possess basic or intermediate computer skills: able to learn complex software related to an electronic medical record. • Must have a valid Kansas Driver's license, current proof of automobile insurance and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Equipment:
• Candidates must have good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Programs. They will need to be able to type and use multi-line phones.
