Position Responsibilities: Chemically control noxious weeds for right-of-ways, railways and government-controlled land. Sell chemicals to landowners; provide snow removal during inclement weather; and assisting with Household Hazardous Waste Program and Consumer Recycling Program.
Education/Experience Required: A high school diploma or GED is required. A technical degree or some college credit is preferred. Employee must pass classes in Kansas Department of Agriculture Certification, Household Hazardous Waste Class, HAZMAT training, First Aid and Hazard Communication Skills and Commercial applicator examination in 6 and 9A within one year of employment.
Special Requirements: This position requires the possession and maintenance of a valid Class A Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements. Newly hired employees who do not currently have a valid Class A CDL will need to obtain one within 60 days of starting employment. The air brake and tanker endorsements are required.
