LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE has an opening for Detention Officer:
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for full-time non-exempt Detention Officer Positions with overtime paid. Starting Pay $14.60 or determined by the Sheriff with prior experience.
The detention officer position works in the Correctional Institution environment, where security is always a priority and there is regular contact with inmates and inmate trustees. It does require regular entry into the secure areas of the jail. Appointment of this position requires successful completion of pre-employment background, physical and polygraph examinations and participates in the random drug and alcohol screening program. This position allows you to learn our inventory and systems and helps qualify you for advancement. You will work with a team to ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly goals are met. Solid base pay and benefits including, paid time off (accounts credited at 10 hours vacation and 8 hours sick per month worked), vendor discounts, health, dental and vision insurance and much more!
