Anticipated Starting Salary: $65,000 - $70,000/year, DOQ
Position Responsibilities: Responsible for the operation of the Pottawatomie County computer network: plans, installs, maintains, manages and supports the county’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.
This position maintains and analyzes existing hardware/software; troubleshoots and corrects errors in existing hardware/software; provides recommendations on future technology acquisitions; analyzes information provided by professional journals, vendors, and others regarding new product technology; provides technical assistance and training to all county personnel; makes enhancements to current software; periodically inventories computer utilization and support supplies; backs up data files; routinely conducts file maintenance; troubleshoots and assists with the maintenance of the county’s web site; works on specially assigned projects; and prepares various computer reports as required, among other duties.
Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer or Information Systems, or directly related field preferred. Three to five years progressively responsible experience in computer systems, with three years in network administration required, plus MCITP Server Administrator Certification or equivalent. Combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications may be considered.
Special Requirements: Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license.
