Job Objectives:

Ensure that Reno County Youth Services facility is kept clean and sanitary.

Essential Job Functions:

Clean and sanitize all bathroom walls, sinks, commodes and urinals, polish mirrors and showers in the facility.  Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex and glove dispensers.  Clean all offices, conference room, med room and waiting area including dusting, sanitizing telephones, emptying trash and vacuuming.  Clean all facility windows, polish water fountains and clean basement sink, shelves, break area and kitchen hand washing sink.  Keep cleaning equipment clean and in proper order.  Keep chemical closet clean and orderly.  Clean blinds in offices and on courtyard windows.  Clean brass kick plates and door handles.  Keep chemical bottles filled and labeled properly according to OSHA regulations.  Complete minor maintenance as instructed and obtain needed supplies from Maintenance Department.

Job Standards:

High school diploma or G.E.D.  General knowledge of basic cleaning and chemical usage and controls.  Understand the uses and hazards of chemicals.  Know appropriate chemicals to use on different surfaces and correct safety precautions to implement.  Cleaning and maintenance experience preferred.

Testing/Screening Requested:

Must pass a pre-employment Physical Capacity Profile and Drug Screen.

Equipment:

Operate all job related machinery, equipment, tools and other aids as required, necessary or needed in the performance of these job duties.

Work Environment:

99% indoors and 1% outdoors.  Exposure to cleaning chemicals.  May be exposed to inclement weather during outside duties.
