Job Description:

Summary of Position:
Successful applicants will have strong keyboarding skills, outstanding interpersonal and judgment skills, and the ability to multi‐task during intense situations and high volume workloads. Incumbents are responsible for answering emergency and nonemergency requests for service and directing appropriate and timely resources. Responsibilities include prioritizing calls, tracking unit statuses, and dispatching emergency personnel to calls for service.  
Afer a required 4‐hour observation period at LCECC to familiarize the applicant with our work environment and duties, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications  will be invited to complete our computerized testing. Candidates who successfully complete the computer test (70% passing) will be invited to interview.
Minimum Qualifications:
 18 Years of Age
 High School Diploma or GED
 Computer Use Competency
 Public Safety Experience preferred, but not required
 Bilingual preferred, but not required
Ranking and Selection:
The ranking and selection of applicants to proceed in the process for our 911 Center includes: experience, education, completion of applications steps, and meeting minimum qualifications of the position.
The initial selection process includes the following steps: application review, criminal history inquiry, computer test ng, and in‐person interview. The final selection process following interviews includes: an extensive background investigation, polygraph testing. Afer successful completion of the final selection process, a conditional offer may be issued prior to physical testing and a drug screening before a final offer of employment.
