Salary: $13.73 Hourly
Starting Rate: $13.73/hr plus excellent benefits (health insurance, paid time off, KPERS, & more)
Position Responsibilities: Participates in the day-to-day operations of the Pottawatomie County Jail in order to assure the welfare of inmates. Responsibilities include booking & releasing offenders, maintaining security of the facility, and escorting offenders. Additional responsibilities include supervising work release programs, dispense medications, effectively manage volatile and violent offenders, and complete a number of clerical duties.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Applicants must not have a felony conviction or dishonorably discharged from any branch of the military, or have a background that shows disrespect for the law enforcement profession. Applicants must also successfully pass a physical agility, written and physiological exam, and possess strong communications skills, integrity, morality and enthusiasm. Previous experience strongly preferred. NOTE: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to be considered.
