Job Title: IT Director
Anticipated Starting Salary: $55,000 - $70,000/year, DOQ
Responsible for the operation of the Pottawatomie County computer network: plans, installs, maintains, manages and supports the county’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and other data communication systems.
This position maintains, analyzes and troubleshoots existing hardware/software; provides planning and hardware/software recommendations on current and future acquisitions; provides support desk services and training to all county personnel; works with county vendors that provide software or hardware services to county offices; responsible for network backups; administrator for county’s web site; works on specially assigned projects; and prepares various computer reports as required, among other duties.
Education/Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer or Information Systems, or directly related field preferred. Three to five years progressively responsible experience in computer systems, with three years in network administration required. Combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications may be considered.
A combination of an Associate's Degree and technical skills with experience for a starting IT Technician position with the potential of promotion to IT Director, if the candidate demonstrates the ability to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge may be considered
Special Requirements: Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license.
