The Sedgwick County Management Intern Program offers a one year opportunity to explore public administrative career fields, gain valuable insight into local government, and procure future leadership positions. This experience has proven to be an excellent training ground for higher level administrative and managerial positions at all levels of government.
Essential Job Functions:
The management intern position involves research and analytical work on an entry-level professional basis using various research methods. Interns study administrative systems, policies and practices. They are given in-depth experience with all facets of County government including, but not limited to: public finance, public health, public safety, public works, human resources, and other County functions. Interns are given work assignments involving meaningful participation in a wide variety of problems facing the Sedgwick County metropolitan area. Interns attend County Commission meetings, other management level meetings, and public events. This experience has proven to be an excellent training ground for higher level administrative and managerial positions at all levels of government.
