Job Title: Technology Help Desk/Administrative Assistant

Purpose:  To provide support to the Director of Technology and Innovation and provide help desk support to users across the district. Coordinate activities within the office and throughout the district.  


  1. Associate of Arts degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  2. Detail-oriented
  3. Ability to work in a positive, flexible environment with a variety of people
  4. Knowledge of human resource management
  5. Demonstrate time management and organizational skills
  6. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal team building, verbal and listening communication skills
  7. Two to three years’ experience in secretarial type duties including computer/technology skills
  8. Demonstrates the ability to provide quality customer service and technology support
  9. Strong troubleshooting skills
  10. Ability to remain calm and friendly with frustrated users
  11. Able to walk users through technical processes
  12. Ability to analyze processes and recommend process improvements
  13. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  14. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Provide phone support for the technology department.
  2. Serve as the liaison with district office and school administration as needed.
  3. Assist in the ordering of supplies.
  4. Assist with communication to building techs.
  5. Provides secretarial support for director of technology; budgets, correspondence, purchase orders, scheduling, ordering supplies, miscellaneous billings, etc
  6. Receive new hardware, software, and related supplies
  7. Provide inventory control for supplies and hardware
  8. Stock, dispense, and bill supplies and all technology purchases
  9. Provide technical support to walk-up and call-in requests
  10. Create and process PO’s and purchases for the technology department as needed or requested with approval from the Network Administrator or the Technology Director.
  11. Manage access to and help prioritize activities for the Technology Director.
  12. Assist in hiring of new employees.
  13. Assist with new employee orientation.
  14. Maintain Talent Ed for technology department and process new hires.
  15. Verify and process work hours on timesheets for department personnel.
  16. Maintain personnel information inclusive of time records, sick leave, vacation and holiday pay.
  17. Assist in managing department budgets.
  18. Work with the sealed bid process to help scope and detail projects, then send sealed bids, and help evaluate bids received.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
