Job Objectives:
Operate as part of a team, working cohesively in a fast paced environment, maximizing efficiency. Support an Enterprise Tax Accounting & Ad Valorem Tax System, for Sedgwick County. Supports multiple software applications used by County departments, working for ITSS on behalf of the departments to optimize application availability and client satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:
Supports County departments to insure balancing and verification of information. Insure State statutes and schedules, are processed to meet deadlines for taxation and distribution of tax payments. Schedule, prioritize and perform application events (up and down times, patches, upgrades, new releases) and communicate schedule with clients. A successful candidate: Will have knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in SQL, and SQL scripting, the ability to create, modify and edit SSRS, Crystal Reports, and SSIS documents. Has the ability to break down problems into smaller components, understands underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues, and understands the difference between critical details and unimportant facts. Works systematically and logically to resolve problems, identify causation and anticipate unexpected results. Manages issues by drawing on own experience and knowledge and calls on other resources as necessary. Adapts well to changes in assignments and priorities; adapts behavior or work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles; approaches change positively and adjusts behaviors accordingly; focusing on being part of the solution. Can operate cohesively on a team of IT staff, to complete tasks, and projects. Function as a business and technology lead, coordinating and facilitating communication between IT staff and client resources. Makes customers/clients and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; makes a conscious effort to include diversity of input in all decisions; shows interest in and understanding of the needs and expectations of internal and external customers (including direct reports); acts with customers in mind and strives for continuous improvement in products and services. Gains customer trust and respect; meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Job Standards:
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and/or four or more years’ experience supporting desktop or business applications. A background in Finance and or Programming is a plus.

Equipment:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies, Comprehension of business processes for Ad Valorem Tax, how data flows from various departments and jurisdictions to create value, assessment, mill levy, specials, increment districts, tax and distribution of taxes collected, and able to support departments balancing and verification of information Knowledge of information systems and information technology concepts. Knowledge of department functions, business processes, goals and the way work is done. Knowledge of applications used by client departments. Knowledge of business application management concepts. Ability to document process flows and manage information systems. Ability to test applications, understand technical and information technology concepts, and communicate such in non-technical fashion to clients. Must establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with departmental officials, clients and technical support staff. Ability to develop training and support materials. Skill in applying knowledge toward developing internal processes and workflows that enhance the operations within the organization. Skill in use of personal computers, and competency with desktop and application software.
