Job Title: Police Detective
The Valley Center Police Department is soliciting highly motivated individuals for the full time position of Detective. Those selected to fill open positions will be enforcing local, state, and federal laws, as well as investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic collisions, and assisting the public. This position requires the applicant currently be a certified Law Enforcement Officer. Included is a generous benefits package, paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. Requirements: Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of application, and have a high school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred, with a clean criminal record, and vision correctable to 20/20. Applicant must pass a background investigation, oral interview, and additional conditional job testing. Work schedule requires working both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions and at any time of the day or night. A minimum of five years prior law enforcement experience required.
