Job Description:

The City of Holcomb, KS (pop. approx. 2,190) is seeking a dedicated, responsive and experienced individual for the full-time position of Chief of Police. The position requires a candidate willing to be a working chief in the field. Under the supervision of the City Administrator, the Chief of Police is responsible for planning, directing and organizing all activities of the Holcomb Police Department as well as supervising two full-time officers, one clerk and one part-time officer.
The Chief of Police will provide law enforcement and the following services to the public: enforcement of criminal and traffic statutes and ordinances, accident investigation, animal control, crime prevention, patrol activities, resolution of domestic and other disturbances, support of prosecution and non-criminal public safety. Prior supervisory experience is desired. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a current full time KLETC certification, a high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license. Applicant must also be proficient in Word and Excel as well as KLER, etc. Must pass a complete background check and physical. Residency is required. The City of Holcomb offers a full benefit package including paid insurance, holiday leave, sick leave, vacation leave, funeral leave and KPERS. Starting salary depends on experience.
