Job Title: PT Children's Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker
Salary: $9.28 Hourly
Provide goal-directed, client-centered, medically necessary services and support to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance and their families in order to improve the quality of life and ability to function more successfully in the community. Computer documentation of all services in a timely manner is required.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Essential Job Functions:
Service Provision Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services
- Facilitates Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PR) services (individual and group). Services are self-contained, goal-directed and designed to assist consumers in minimizing or resolving the effects of mental and emotional impairments. Objectives of the activities shall be designed to: assist individuals with daily problem solving; improve social skills; provide leisure time training; promote health and enhance personal
- Provides mental health Attendant Care (AC), one-to-one support or supervision with the goal of maintaining the client in natural community locations, such as at home, in school or in the community. Direct support and supervision in activities of daily living or to support the client and/or the family in maintaining daily routines critical to a stable lifestyle.
- Complete progress notes in accordance with COMCARE guidelines which meet requirements for medical necessity, goal-directed treatment and client response to treatment within prescribed timelines.
- Complete Notes for Record, Precautions statements and authorizations for release of records as required and/or recommended.
- Enters no show and cancellations for accuracy and completeness of medical record.
Collaboration & Cooperation: Builds constructive working relationships with clients/consumers, other work units, community organizations and others to meet mutual goals and objectives. Behaves professionally and supportively when working with individuals from a variety of ethnic, social and educational backgrounds.
Communication: Clearly conveys and receives information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the listener, helps them understand and retain the message, and invites response and feedback. Keeps others informed as appropriate. Demonstrates good written, oral and listening skills.
Detail Oriented: Ensures information is complete and accurate; follows up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. Follows process steps as outlined in standard operating procedures. Reviews materials to ensure they are accurate, clear, and concise. Performs follow-up to ensure quality of work product and/or actions completed.
Resilience & Adaptability: Adapts quickly to change and easily considers new approaches. Remains flexible and open to new ideas and encourages others to value change. Educational Requirements: Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
License, certifications, etc… Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s license and current proof of automobile insurance. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and meet driver qualification standards as set forth in Sedgwick County’s Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens. Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE.
License, certifications, etc… Must possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with children with severe emotional disturbance and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations. Demonstrated ability to work with preschool age youth and their families and knowledge of their unique needs.
Physical Requirements of Position:
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and using measurement devices.
Background checks including but not limited to KBI and DCF child and adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screening, and pre-employment drug screen
PC, Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet, e-mail, and general office equipment (copier and fax machine)
Usual working days/hours: Varied schedule Monday - Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., up to 19 hours per week
Location of work: 350 S Broadway
The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). May work in adverse conditions. Fast-paced environment and may occasionally work with combative emotional consumers.
