Job Title: Chief of Police
The City of Leon is currently seeking a professional, highly self-motivated, problem solving and community oriented individual for a full-time Chief of Police. This position is to fill an opening from a retirement. The population is approx. 700. As Chief of Police you would be expected to enforce all local, state, and federal laws. Benefits include health care (premiums are paid by employee and City), vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, and a KPERS retirement plan.
TYPE: Full Time
SALARY: Pay commensurate with experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be KLETC certified and have a high school diploma or the equivalent. Must have a Kansas Driver’s license with a good driving record. No Felony, domestic violence or serious misdemeanor convictions. They must also meet and maintain all State requirements for law enforcement officer qualifications.
