Job Description:

General Description

To teach Electrical Power Technology courses including field experience labs and advise students.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned classes and labs.
  2. Provide assessment and evaluation of student performance.
  3. Assist with academic advising.
  4. Assist with registration.
  5. Actively recruit students in accordance with college procedures.
  6. Enforce the regulations and policies of the college.
  7. Attend faculty, division, and other meetings as assigned.
  8. Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed.
  9. All duties and responsibilities as per Professional Employees job description (0001.FA)

Consulting Tasks

  1. Work closely with faculty within the technology departments.
  2. Work closely with personnel in admissions and student services.
  3. Work cooperatively with business and industry representatives to provide advanced level training.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications

  1. Knowledge and skills in the construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical power lines, stations, and equipment.
  2. Knowledgeable of all applicable shop and industry safety rules.

Required Experience

  1. Must possess working knowledge of OSHA and NESC rules and regulations, standard work practices, and underground distribution knowledge unique to electrical power utilities. 
  2. Full-time work experience in electrical power in the construction, operation and maintenance of structures, equipment, and facilities preferred.

Required Educational Background/Certifications

  1. Journeyman license.
  2. Associate or higher degree in Electrical Power Technology preferred.
  3. CDL required.
