Job Title: Equipment Operator III - Section Patrolman
Salary: $15.38 Hourly
Equipment Operator III/Patrolman – Pottawatomie County, Kansas, Department of Public Works
Position Purpose: Performs construction and/or maintenance on designated County roads primarily through the use of a motor grader, ensures proper drainage of said roads, installs culverts when needed, performs brush control within designated sections of road right-of-way, and assists in snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
Experience Required: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or graduation from a vocational school is preferred. One to three years of similar or related experience is recommended. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within six months to one year of employment.
Special Requirements: Must have (or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment), and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
