Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator

Exploration Place seeks an energetic and creative person to fill our Volunteer/Special Events Coordinator position.  This position will be responsible for maintaining a workforce of volunteers to support our organization, as well as assist with the operation and promotion of Exploration Place ticketed general public events.  Duties will include: recruiting, interviewing and placing volunteers; organizing each event set-up, staffing, security, vendors and sponsors; and serving on internal committees.  This position requires excellent written and verbal skills, strong organizational and project management abilities and careful attention to detail.  Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or sales required.  Minimum of 3 years of proven, successful experience in event coordination, promotion and volunteer recruitment preferred.  This is a full time position with a work schedule of Tuesday – Saturday including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
