Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
The City of Holcomb is looking for an individual who possesses the skills needed to lead the maintenance department as City Superintendent. This is a working supervisor position. The essential functions of this position are as follows:
Schedules, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate personnel; Establishes priorities on job assignments; Completes necessary paperwork required by local, state and federal guidelines regulating the operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities; Assists in the planning and construction of new utility mains and services; Plans, builds and updates treatment facilities; Acts as a representative of the City of Holcomb at organizational meetings for public utilities; Supervises and participates in the installation of new water and wastewater lines; Schedules maintenance work on water and wastewater lines. At least five years of similar or related experience is required for this position.
Education requirements are as follows: - High school diploma or GED - A relevant technical degree or some college credit is preferred - Class II Water certification - Small Systems Waste Water certification - Class B CDL.
In addition to the requirements listed above, the employee is expected to have a working knowledge of mathematics and skills in proper collection of water/wastewater samples. The Superintendent should also be knowledgeable of all safety requirements from federal, state and local regulations governing potable water and wastewater treatment. A thorough knowledge of chemical usage in water and wastewater treatment as well as a mathematical aptitude for determining ratios for chemical use in water and wastewater treatment is also required. In addition, an ability to operate line locaters, leak detection equipment, o polyethylene fusion equipment, water and wastewater treatment equipment and other related equipment is a must.
