Job Description:

Job Objectives:

Perform computer detail clerical data entry along with scanning and attaching support documentation into the provided software. Navigating GIS to establish the jurisdictional location of property. Phone answering and problem solving required.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Face-to-face customer interaction

  •  Receive visitors to the department and route to the appropriate staff.

Analyzes customer issues and presents solutions that fit MABCD accepted procedures

  • Update Insurance certificates in permitting software; scan and attach supporting documentation.
  • May research requests as assigned for timely and accurate responses to customers, public and other governmental agencies.
  • Collaborates with internal and external departments for MABCD processes and information resolution/flow.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.

Responds to customer inquiries accurately by phone, email, FAX or in person

  • Uses proper etiquette including verifying customer hand-off and giving customer accurate information.

Job Standards:

Minimum Qualifications

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or GED required.

Years of Experience: Two years clerical and customer service experience and must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good with details and ability to discern input requirements from submitted data.

Preferred Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Associates Degree or some college or trade courses.

Years of Experience: Three years clerical and customer service experience with 3 years of construction experience and must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good with details and ability to discern input requirements from submitted data.

Bilingual.

 

Physical Requirements of Position:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

 

Testing/Screening Requested:

KBI background check required. Alcohol, drug, and urine screen. Must have a valid Kansas Driver's License or ID.

 

Equipment:

Computer display and keyboard, telephone, label maker, headset, copier/fax/scanner machine, date/time stamp.

 

Work Environment

Usual working days/hours:   Monday - Friday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Location of work:  271 W. 3rd St.
