Job Title: Construction Inspector
Salary: $15.55 Hourly
Position Responsibilities: Monitors construction methods and materials for the various maintenance and construction projects occurring in the county. Responsible for the interpretation and compliance of plans and specifications for projects.
Education/Experience Required: A high school diploma, GED, graduation from a vocational school, or equivalent is required. Basic education supplemented by college or university level course work in engineering or construction is preferred. LPA Certification within one year of employment is required. Equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, ability and skills may be accepted.
Special Requirements: Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license and the ability to legally operate a County vehicle throughout employment essential.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
