Job Description:

Position Responsibilities: Prosecutes violations against state and local laws; responsible for working with local law enforcement agencies to determine whether there is adequate evidence to file charges against individuals and work to bring those cases to successful closure in protecting the public safety, health, welfare and interest.  Must exercise considerable independent judgement.  Ability to maintain discretion is required.  Supervises staff in the preparation of documents and papers

Education/Experience Required: Must have a law degree and be able to legally practice law in the State of Kansas.  One to two years of similar or related experience is preferred.  Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and have the ability to read and interpret manuals, legal documents and court proceedings.  Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and ordinances are preferred, with strong organizational skills required.
