Salary: $15.28 Hourly
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III (Heavy Equipment Operator)
Full-time – Pottawatomie County, Westmoreland, KS
Minimum Starting Rate: $15.28/hr, plus excellent benefits (health insurance, KPERS, paid time off, and more)
Position Responsibilities: Operates light and heavy equipment including but not limited to: loader, motor grader, mower, roller, tractor, backhoe, chain saw, sheep foot, highloader, water trucks, bobtail, wnch truck, broom, dump truck, semi-tractor and trailer, implement tractor; and others. May perform construction and/or maintenance on roads, ensures proper drainage of said roads, and perform grass, weed and brush control. Performs snow and ice removal functions during inclement weather.
Education/Experience Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or graduation from vocational school is preferred, with one to three years of similar or related experience recommended.
Special Requirements: Must have (or obtain with 60 days of employment) and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
