Employer: Pottawatomie County
Job Title: Equipment Operator II (Bridge Technician)
Starting Rate: $14.34/hr, position includes excellent benefits (health insurance, paid time off, KPERS & more).
Position Responsibilities: Involves manual labor & operation of equipment in the daily maintenance & construction of county bridges & culverts at a safe level. Includes daily performance of routine bridge maintenance & construction activities. Position repairs & constructs wood, steel & concrete bridges, culverts & other drainage structures.
Education/Experience: High school diploma, GED, or graduation from vocational school preferred, other equivalent combination of training & experience that provides required knowledge, ability & skills accepted. Experience in the operation of construction hand tools, chain & circular saws, & other construction equipment. One to three years of similar or related experience desired/preferred.
Special Requirementss: Possession (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment) & maintenance of a valid Class A Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
