Position Responsibilities: Employee assits in the day-to-day operations and general administration of the Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Helps to plans, organize, coordinate, and evaluate functioning of the ambulance service. Supervises full- and part-time staff in order to ensure consistent high-quality care.  Assistant Director is a working member of the staff and is responsible for daily coverage, emergency responses, and call coverage. Employee shall possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and independent decision making ability

Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in medical science or a related field is preferred. Five (5) years’ advanced life support required.  Experience in administration or management preferred.  Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Must be certified by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) as a paramedic in good standing throughout employment. Must be BLS provider certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Must have or obtain within 180 days of employment and maintain throughout employment certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, plus Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC).
