Emporia State University is seeking a full-time Equipment Operator to join our Landscaping team located in Emporia, KS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Equipment Operator you will:

  • Prepare and maintain gardens
  • Apply mulch, fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides to garden areas
  • Manage container plantings, annual display beds, and specialty gardens
  • Trim shrubs, plant grass, and clean up leaves
  • Operate mowers, weed eaters, skid loaders, and other landscaping equipment
  • Serve as part of the snow/ice team during the winter

Position Details:

The Equipment Operator position:

  • Starts at $11.17 per hour
  • Is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package
  • Works all year-round; schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday with an occasional evening or weekend for football games and other special events

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • One year of experience related to landscaping or operating similar equipment
