Lyon County Emergency Communications Center has openings for LCECC Public Information Coordinator.
The LCECC is now accepting applications for full-time non-exempt Public Information Coordinator, with overtime paid. Starting pay is $15.15/hour with full-time benefits.
Summary of Position:
Successful applicants will have strong keyboarding skills, outstanding interpersonal
and judgment skills, and the ability to multitask during intense situations and high
volume workloads. Incumbents are responsible for answering emergency and nonemergency
requests for service and directing appropriate and timely resources. Public Information Coordinator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing timely, accurate information to the public via the public notification system, the departmental social media. The PIC will also serve as departmental Assistant Public Information Officer, and will coordinate with the local media, and other PIO’s during emergencies as directed by the Director. The PIC will coordinate all hiring processes with in the communication center, as well as other duties as assigned. High School diploma or GED is required. Must maintain NCIC certifications throughout duration of employment. Ability to speak and read English fluently is required. Please see Job Description for details.

Ranking and Selection:
The ranking and selection of applicants to proceed in the process for our 911 Center includes:
experience, education, completion of applications steps, and meeting minimum
qualifications of the position. The initial selection process includes the following steps:
application review, criminal history inquiry, computer testing, and in person interview. The
final selection process following interviews includes: an extensive background investigation,
polygraph testing. After successful completion of the final selection process, a conditional offer
may be issued prior to physical testing and a drug screening before a final offer of employment.
