Job Title: Juvenile Intake/Home Based Services Officer
Cowley County Youth Services has an opening for a Juvenile Intake/Home Based Services Officer. Applicant’s primary responsibility is to complete assessments that help determine what community based services may be appropriate for the youth and families that are arrested or placed in police protective custody. The Officer completes state required assessments, evaluates the needs of individual clients, provides guidance and resources for the youth’s personal development and provides a recommendation for action to the Youth Services Director. The incumbent will also serve a minimum of one-week of on-call service (Saturday to Saturday), answering any immediate calls for service during non-business hours or on holidays
Required experience is one (1) year in probation, parole, social casework or counseling or related work with juvenile offenders/children in need of care or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is required as well.
The starting salary is $16.60 - $27.88 per hour, plus benefits. Good sound work history and work references required.
