The City of Ottawa was founded by a town company in 1865, incorporated on November 23, 1867 and still serves as the Franklin County seat. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Regular part-time and regular full-time employees shall establish and maintain residency within a driving distance of 35 miles of the Ottawa City Hall within a year of hire. The Department Directors are required to live within Franklin County. The City Manager is required to live within the city limits of the City of Ottawa.
No person shall be hired, promoted, transferred, demoted or reassigned in any position in the City’s service when, as a result, the person would supervise, manage, or be supervised or managed by a family member or member of the person’s household. No employee shall advocate, participate in or cause the hiring, promotion, transfer, demotion, termination, or discipline of a family member or member of a person’s household.
All candidates for hire will be required to take and pass a post-offer drug screen.
