Thank you for your interest in employment with Dickinson County.

By submitting your application for any position with Dickinson County, you understand and agree to the following statements.

You understand that any misrepresentation or material omission made on the application will be sufficient cause for cancellation of the application or immediate termination of employment whenever it may be discovered.

If you are selected for employment with Dickinson County you agree to participate in the appropriate examinations, determined by the position, which may include pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and psychological testing.  These examinations will be paid for entirely by Dickinson County.  Costs of transportation and time involved taking the examinations are the responsibility of the applicant.

  • Paid Vacation Leave Time

    The employee will receive vacation on January 1 following their date of employment.  The amount of paid vacation time employees receive each year increases with the length of their employment.

  • Paid Sick Leave Time

    Dickinson County provides paid sick leave to all eligible employees for periods of absence due to illness or injury.  Eligible employees will accrue sick leave benefits at the rate of 8 hours per month.

  • 11 Paid Holidays

    Dickinson County grants holiday time off to all employees. Paid time for holidays will coincide with the employee’s regular schedule.  Employees will be paid time and one-half for all hours actually worked on a scheduled holiday.

  • Personal Leave

    Personal Leave is an all purpose time-off policy for eligible employees to use for personal business.  Eligible employees earn 16 hours of personal leave per year.

  • Health, Dental, Prescription and Vision Insurance

    Dickinson County’s health insurance plan provides employees and their dependents access to medical, dental, prescription and vision care insurance benefits.  Employees are eligible the first working day of the month following 30 days of employment.

  • KPERS Retirement Program
    Membership in KPERS is mandatory for all employees in covered positions.

  • AFLAC supplemental insurance

  • Workers’ Compensation

    Dickinson County provides a comprehensive workers’ compensation insurance program at no cost to employees.  This program covers any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment that requires medical, surgical, or hospital treatment
