The City of Garden Plain is a city which is beginning to grow, located 10 miles west of Wichita.  Garden Plain’s proximity to Wichita offers all the advantages of a large city while still maintaining a small town atmosphere were everyone knows one another.

Garden Plain and the surrounding area is, home too approximately 1,300 people.  Life in Garden Plain offers many opportunities to stay busy with sports leagues for children and adults.  Garden Plain is home to the 2008 3-A State Football Champions, the Garden Plain Owls.

Community clubs and service organizations consist of Boy Scouts, Catholic Youth Organization, Daughters of Isabella, Garden Plain Pride Committee, Garden Plain Senior Citizens Club, Girls Scouts, High School Booster Club, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary too name a few.

The quite, relaxed pace is popular with families raising children.  Crime is almost non-existent, with rates far below that of large cities like Wichita and national averages.  Homes in Garden Plain are priced from affordable to high end depending on your need.  There are two housing Developments with in the city limits as well as two Developments within ¼ mile of the city.  The tax base mil-levy has remained steady while the community has been able to build a new Police Department / Council and Court Room

If you are selected for employment by the City of Garden Plain, you agree to participate in the appropriate examinations, determined by the position, which may include pre-employment physical examination and drug screening, psychological, and physical endurance examinations as well.  These examinations will be paid for entirely by the City of Garden Plain.  Cost of transportation and time involved taking the examinations are the responsibility of the applicant.
