Garnett is the county seat of Anderson County and is located in east central Kansas less than one hour southwest of Kansas City. Garnett is home to approximately 3,280 people, with Anderson County having approximately 8,051 residents.
The City of Garnett is an all-inclusive utility company, providing electricity, natural gas, water, sanitary sewer and refuse services to its residents. Additionally, Garnett provides a municipal airport, library, recreation facilities, over 1,000 acres of parks including three lakes, country club and golf course, and municipal police and fire protection.
